Celebrating Innovation: The M.A. Hatzinikolas Award

The M.A. Hatzinikolas Award is presented at the Canadian Masonry Symposium to recognize the best paper focused on innovative and new masonry materials, systems, or structures. At the 15th CMS, 7 papers were nominated, and 5 were selected as finalists, showcasing cutting-edge research and forward-thinking approaches in masonry design and construction.

This award honours Dr. Mike Hatzinikolas, a leading figure in Canadian masonry engineering. With M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in structural engineering and a specialty in masonry, Dr. Hatzinikolas has made significant contributions through his academic work, industry leadership, and service on CSA committees.
