ABSTRACT
The paper presents an overview of the key factors which must be controlled to achieve adequate masonry durability. These factors include material selection, design detailing appropiate to a project’s environmental loading, workmanlike construction, and periodic maintenance. The paper makes a case for the proper durability design of masonry.
