One source of frustration on construction projects is a growing disconnect between the design team and the mason contractor. On the one hand, incomplete or vague information is sometimes conveyed to the construction team, and in other instances, expectations around workmanship or other important aspects of executing a successful project are not met by inexperienced or underqualified workers.

The goal of these articles is to bridge this gap and explain selected points of contention that tend to come up on masonry jobs, with the goal of elevating the understanding and enhancing communication between designer and builder as it relates to Canadian masonry construction.
